EQUITHÈME Air 2 Adult Airbag Vest Black

In anticipation of a European standardization, France has led the way by adopting a standard that governs the manufacture of equestrian airbags (PPE Personal Protective Equipment), the NF S72-800-2022 standard.

Developed by FREEJUMP, the new EQUITHÈME Air 2 Airbag Vest meets the requirements of this new standard, offering riders enhanced protection by regulating the protection surface, inflation speed, and requiring much stricter impact tests for the vests.

Efficient and breathable, the EQUITHÈME Air 2 Airbag Vest features:

• An ultra-fast inflation speed: 115 ms to reach the required impact test pressure for a size M.
• An expanded coverage area (NF standard requirements) that even exceeds the NF standard by addressing longitudinal impacts on the back.
• Lower back protection, managed by snap buttons, which allows for shortening the length of the airbag when riding and deploying additional length in case of a fall.
• A weight of 900 g including the cartridge for a size M.
• Maximum ventilation thanks to its mesh inner fabric.

For added convenience, rearming the cartridge is made easier by:

• the orange clip that secures the ball
• the cap guide to prevent loss

The saddle attachment of the EQUITHÈME Air 2 Airbag Vest is made entirely of textile to avoid the clinking of metal against metal.

This protective airbag vest can be worn by all riders weighing at least 35 kg (≈ 77 lb), with no size limitations for the horse, regardless of the size of the airbag.

The new standard imposes a minimum size of the horse depending on the trigger speed: a slowly triggering airbag can be used on a taller horse to allow time to inflate before hitting the ground! Airbags with FREEJUMP technology meet the tests regardless of the height of the horse, so there are no restrictions for the consumer.

The EQUITHÈME Air 2 Airbag Vest is delivered complete with a Y-shaped saddle attachment, an attachment cord, an Allen key, a cartridge, and instructions.

To ensure proper operation, it must be used with Penelope /EQUITHEME Air 2 cartridges:

• 60 CC, 46 g of CO2: for EQUITHÈME AIR 2 Adult airbag vests sizes XXS, XS, S, and M.
• 85 CC, 46 g of CO2: for EQUITHÈME AIR 2 Adult airbag vests sizes L, XL, and XXL.

Cartridges of 50 CC, 38g of CO2 are reserved for EQUITHÈME AIR 2 Children's airbag vests sizes S and L.

Using cartridges from other brands or those not suited to the size of the vest voids all warranties and manufacturer responsibilities.

For proper operation, the weight of the rider must be at least 35 kg (≈ 77 lb).

Usage Precautions

To ensure optimal functionality, the vest must be the correct size: too large, and it will be ineffective; too small, and it could be dangerous upon deployment.

A regular visual inspection is necessary to check for signs of wear or abrasion on the vest's fabric.

It is recommended to store the vest on a hanger or flat, ideally in a protective cover. Do not fold the vest for storage or transport.
