Equipped with a locking system, its double break locks when exceeding a certain angle, thus the double-jointed bit functions like a straight bit.

As soon as the horse relaxes and the rein tension lessens, the double break becomes flexible again.

The SPRENGER Max-Control Pelham Bit is perfectly suited for strong horses that resist the hand.

With its short shanks and curb chain, this bit acts on the tongue, neck, and lower jaw simultaneously.

It can be used with pelham straps or two pairs of reins for greater precision.

The curb chain should be laid flat, making contact to allow a 45° angle between the shanks and the mouth's axis.

Using a curb chain protector is recommended to safeguard the sensitive bone of the lower jaw.
