Its 3 adjustment points allow for precise positioning:
2 side adjustments at the saddle girth straps,
1 ventral adjustment with an open buckle for attachment to the girth.
When properly adjusted, the breastplate stays close enough to the horse to do its job without compressing the chest or restricting shoulder movement.
A central D-ring allows for the attachment of a compatible martingale.

My horse is so grateful! I'm on a green horse and I wanted to be sure if he made some crazy moves that zi didn't hurt his mouth with a bit. One thing I would change is to add a center ring so it can be used for ground work without having to change sides. Otherwise is is very soft leather and well built.
I love this bit! My pony is sensitive and I had him in a rubber bit before this. He would make a loud squeegee sound in the rubber bit, which then seemed to distract both the pony and his rider! This much quieter and they both seem more focused! And yes, his teeth are floated regularly!
