Metalab long shank tongue passage Weymouth Bit
Featuring a tongue relief for added comfort, the Metalab Long Shank Tongue Passage Weymouth Bit is particularly suitable for horses with sensitive tongues or those with a thick tongue.
By maximizing space in the horse's mouth, the thin mouthpiece with a tongue port of this bit helps to reduce pressure on the tongue.
With its long shanks, the Metalab Long Shank Tongue Passage Weymouth Bit is a type of curb bit known as a L'hotte bit, which has a greater leverage effect than a bit with short shanks. Its strong lowering action makes it a severe bit.
Generally used in dressage, this bit is recommended for experienced riders.
The adjustment of the curb chain can alter the bit's severity.
The curb chain should be laid flat, in contact, and allow a 45° angle between the shanks and the mouth's axis.
Using a curb chain guard is recommended to protect the sensitive bone of the lower jaw.
