The leverage effect of the bit can be adjusted based on the rein positions across two possible levels. This bit, also known as a Pessoa type bit, can be used with one or two pairs of reins or Pelham converters.

Equipped with a "Pinchless" joint, the Metalab Pinchless Leather 3-Ring Adjustable Bit prevents accidental pinching of the tongue and corners of the mouth. The horse's tongue remains free to move, enhancing the contact between the rider's hand and the horse's mouth.
