NORTON Glim Ethological Halter Light green/silver
The NORTON Glim Ethological Halter is a pre-tied rope halter made of polypropylene with a metallic thread that adds a subtle glitter effect.
It is adjustable solely by knots, like all ethological halters, allowing for precise positioning on the horse's head.
To connect the rope ends and ease the threading through the closure loop, the NORTON Glim Ethological Halter features a brown synthetic leather patch. This piece is marked with a white 'N', the signature of the NORTON brand.
An ethological halter is primarily a tool for ground training. It is suited for:
- teaching or reinforcing ground manners (leading, stopping, backing up, moving shoulders and hips),
- enhancing the precision of communication between rider and horse,
- improving focus, mobility, and reactivity,
- conducting confidence-building and handling sessions.
The NORTON Glim Ethological Halter allows for a more direct action than a flat halter due to its knots and slim rope, making it a demanding but highly effective tool in skilled hands.
However, like all ethological halters, it should not be used for tying. Its thinness and lack of breakaway feature can become hazardous if the horse pulls back sharply.
Caution: An ethological halter works through pressure points: the knots press on nerve-rich areas of the horse's head, and the section passing behind the ears is thin. It can become painful or dangerous if misused.
